Overview

Bristol Old Vic Theatre School’s Young Conservatoire is designed specifically for young people aged 16–18 who wish to pursue a career in acting. Over the course of the academic year, you’ll experience classes in acting, movement, voice and industry-relevant skills.

Bristol Old Vic Theatre School offers a fun and nurturing environment in which to pursue your creative ambitions. The support and feedback available from your tutor will help you develop your natural talents and confidence in acting.

Course structure

BOVTS Young Conservatoire takes places on Thursday evenings during term time at our Downside Road studios. Over the course of the year, you’ll acquire a clear understanding of what drama school training involves and gain a foundational knowledge of the vocational skills we impart on our full-time courses.

Audition process

Entry to the Young Conservatoire is by audition. There is no audition fee and auditions are conducted in person at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. You will need to present a two-minute speech from a published play. Please choose a character close to your own age.
