The Tempest

“My high charms work, And these, mine enemies, are all knit up, In their distractions. They now are in my power.” Prospero: Act 3 Scene 3

Our prospero is inspired by Salvador Dali/ Jackson Pollock in his studio, his canvas: the island itself, a giant canvas playground. The colonial themes in the play are portrayed by a sympathetic Caliban, left over from the Romantic era.

Edgar Degas: The False Start, Scenic Painting

“A painting requires a little mystery, some vagueness and some fantasy”- Degas

As soon as I visited the School, I fell in love with the place. Perhaps it sounds a bit irrational, but sometimes you get a vibe - and you just know! BOVTS gave me all the tools I needed to prepare for a career as an actor. Sahir Mehta, MA Professional Acting, 2018
