Holes - Turbine Model

Designed by Chen Chen, the show is about a plane that crash lands on an island, and the survivors believe they are the last people on earth. The set represents the remnants of the plane, and of humanity, the survivors have to hang onto. Directed by Lydia Cook.

Holes - Turbine Final Build

Constructed with a timber frame, 18mm MDF face and clad in 5mm Flexi Ply, I managed the construction of this set that was built by myself and 1st year Production Arts students. It was painted by the Designer, Chen Chen, and freelance Scenic Artist, Jo Browne.

Holes - Production Photo

Here you can see how the whole set came together to bring the idea of desolation and depravity to the surface. The boxes were made by the Props department, supervised by Em South.

One of my favourite parts about BOVTS is that it feels ‘homegrown’. From the set to the costume, lighting, acting and sound, every single aspect of a theatre production or film is down to the students. The location of Clifton is so serene and the School being so small everyone knows each other and it feels so personal and special. Violet Morris, BA Professional Acting Student
