Biography

Bronia is a designer who has been making sets and costumes for theatre, opera, dance and pop music performances for eighteen years. She trained in design on the Motley Theatre Design Course and has a degree in Theatre Studies from Kent University.

She has a wide range of design experience, not only from her own freelance career, but also from working as an associate designer for many years. She focuses on teaching technical design skills and integration of technology into design practice.

Bronia runs the website for the Bristol Design Assembly, supporting designers based in the South-West.

Recent design includes: The Wizard of Oz (Salisbury Playhouse) Hedda (Bristol Old Vic, BOVTS), The Snow Queen, The Railway Children & Mrs Beeton Says (Redgrave Theatre, BOVTS), Table & The Kitchen Sink (New Vic, Newcastle-Under-Lyme), Remarkable Invisible (Theatre by the Lake, Keswick), King Arthur, The Little Match Girl & The Bird Show (The Last Baguette, touring), The Rubenstein Kiss, Amy’s View & After Miss Julie (Nottingham Playhouse), Strange Blooms (Shobana Jeyasingh Dance), Imago (Glyndebourne) and The Rodin Project (Sadlers Wells and touring).

Bronia was associate designer to Es Devlin for over ten years and worked on many shows including the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games, numerous operas around the world and plays for the Royal Court, Complicite and the Donmar Warehouse among many others.
