We all know that vocal and physical stamina as a performer needs to be maintained. These weekly sessions will give you a two-hour movement, voice and acting limber with a BOVTS tutor.
You will be guided through practical training covering:
– Vocal warm-ups to enrich your vocal technique
– Movement work to bridge the gap between voice and body
– Analysis and performance of classical as well as contemporary text
By completing this course you will gain:
– Knowledge of vocal anatomy and the effect it has on voice production
– A practical toolkit of exercises to take into your own practice
– A wider community of local practitioners and performers
The sessions are suitable for experienced performers looking to re-energise their performances, as well as for emerging performers seeking to develop their skills for professional performance. Sunday Limber can expand your skill set, whether you are looking to boost confidence in your performance, preparing a monologue for an audition, or seeking to practice techniques you learned in drama school. It is also an invaluable opportunity to meet and network with fellow performers in Bristol and the South West.
There are limited places available and priority is given to those who have booked the term. If there are still spaces in a class, you will be able to book a drop in session seven days in advance.
Do I need to be a professional actor or have any prior formal training to participate in Sunday Actors’ Lab?
No, there are no formal training or professional credits required in order to take part. Attendees should be aware that the classes are designed and run like those experienced during full time drama school training and are aimed to be accessible to professionals within the industry as well as those wishing to increase their knowledge. Therefore there are expectations of professionalism during your time at BOVTS. The aim is to bring together performers at all stages of their careers and keep them in touch with fundamental practice.
I am currently an acting student. Is this programme suitable for me?
Yes, you will be trained by a professional voice and acting coach who can guide you on general and specific training.
