Head of Development
Bristol Old Vic Theatre School is seeking a Head of Development to lead on the planning and implementation of an ambitious fundraising strategy to realise its strategic objectives over the next five years.
Equipped with substantial and proven experience across the fundraising mix, the role holder will be responsible for establishing a donor pipeline, fostering philanthropic relationships and broadening the School’s means of raising funds. The ideal candidate will have wide-ranging leadership and negotiation skills, underpinned by financial acumen and experience in strategic planning.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the School’s senior management team and to establish a self-funding Development Office for the Theatre School. The successful candidate will be pivotal in the delivery of a masterplan which underpins the continued delivery of the School’s innovative and world-class training.
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Salary: £40,000 per annum

Digital Marketing Assistant
Bristol Old Vic Theatre School is seeking a Digital Marketing Assistant to join their dynamic Student Recruitment and Marketing team. The DMA will be responsible for supporting the department’s officers across a variety of projects.
You will play a key role in supporting the department’s three main areas of responsibility: student recruitment to the degree and short courses; marketing of the School’s main house productions to the public; promoting the School and its graduating students or alumni.
The ideal candidate will have experience in social media management, content creation, uploading information to a CMS and an understanding of digital accessibility. They will be a friendly individual who is excited at the prospect of working within a small but busy team within a world-renowned organisation. You will be happy to work flexibly and have an appreciation for Higher Education and/or the theatre, film and television industries.

Student TikTok AmbassadorsÂ
BOVTS is looking to employ two imaginative video creators to produce fun, engaging content for our TikTok channel. We are interested in applications from students on all undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
As a Student TikTok Ambassador, you will play a huge part in transforming our digital brand. Our existing social media channels have a combined following of 28.1K+ and we are keen to increase the amount of student-led video content we produce as a way of introducing more young people to the opportunities available at BOVTS.
For this role you need to be comfortable filming yourself, navigating TikTok and occasionally using the Going Live feature. You will also be confident at using the voice over and editing tools, and be aware of which current trends we should utilise. If you’re brimming with ideas, confident at using TikTok and looking to gain experience of working in a professional marketing and student recruitment team, we want to hear from you.
Salary: £10.42 per hour
Hours: Ad-hoc, no more than 2 hours per week during term time

Workshop Assistant (Graduate Role)
Bristol Old Vic Theatre School is seeking a graduate or early-career professional to work in its scenic workshops to support the delivery of scenic construction and art on its professional-standard theatre productions.
Working closely with the Head of Scenic Construction, the successful candidate will help ensure that the training of our students on Production Arts courses meets professional industry standards by advising and supporting student construction managers and assisting in the supervision of the fabrication of metal and timber scenic elements.
Equipped with a good working knowledge and experience of current theatre practice in the relevant areas, the ideal candidate will also have excellent interpersonal skills, up-to-date knowledge of health and safety legislation and the ability to remain patient and calm in supporting students in training.

BOVTS Young Artists Leaders
Bristol Old Vic Theatre School is recruiting for Young Artist Leaders to develop and deliver tuition to young people from Bristol and the surrounding areas in performance and technical theatre skills. BOVTS Young Artists is the Theatre School’s youth academy with classes running on Sunday mornings during term time.Â
We are looking for people who are experienced performers, stage managers or teachers to deliver this work. If you feel you can inspire the next generation of theatre makers, come and work with our Young Artists!

We use a range of methods at the interview stage to assess candidates against objective job criteria contained in the job description and employee competencies applicable to the role.
