Bristol Old Vic Theatre School has a leading reputation for postgraduate training in acting, creative and technical theatre disciplines. Our specialist Master’s courses are all vocational in their approach and taught by industry-experienced practitioners within a supportive, friendly and inspiring learning environment.

Postgraduate Visit Afternoons

Our postgraduate afternoons are designed to allow you to find out more about our courses and to see for yourself how the Theatre School operates. Our visit afternoon on Thursday 27 February is intended for students interested in the following courses:

• MA Drama Directing*
• MA Drama Writing
• MA Scenic Art
• MA Theatre Design*
• MA Theatre Production Management
• MFA Professional Voice Studies†

The Theatre School operates as a producing-house theatre; each term our students collaborate across courses to stage shows for the public in some of Bristol’s most prominent theatre venues. As well as meeting with staff and current students, you’ll have the opportunity on our visit afternoon to see one of our shows for yourself.

* Please note that due to course restructuring and re-validation, the next entry date for these courses is September 2021. Applications will open later in 2020. Information presented at the time of the open day remains subject to academic approval.

Visit Afternoon Schedule

12:00 noon An introduction to postgraduate training at BOVTS
12:30 pm Lunch (buffet, provided) with current BOVTS postgraduates
13:00 pm Subject-specific time with teaching staff
14:00 pm Taxis/travel to Bristol Old Vic theatre
15:00 pm The Laramie Project at Bristol Old Vic’s Weston Studio
